ABOUT THE CLASSES:
ALL CLASSES WILL TAKE NOTES FROM THE POWER POINTS, READ FROM THE CHAPTERS, LISTENS TO LECTURES, WORK IN GROUPS, TAKE QUIZZES (ANNOUNCED AND UNANNOUNCED), TAKE TESTS (ALWAYS ANNOUNCED) AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR LEARNING.

CONFERENCE PERIODS:
3rd period on purple days from 12:45 pm - 2:10 pm and 6th period on silver day from 10:15 am - 11:45 am.
All conferences are by appointment only. I can also meet after school from 3:45 pm - 4:15 pm daily.

ABSENCES:
If you are going to be absent, please have your parents call in your absence. If you are unexcused
absent, you will receive a zero for the assignment that day.

SCHOOL SUPPLY LIST:
Mini Stapler
notebook (composition)
colored markers
colored pencils
pencils
glue sticks (no bottles)
NEW THIS YEAR- pencil sharpers

Students must have all of these items.


GRADING POLICIES:

All assignments are done in Cornell Note Form. Please write the questions and
answer in complete sentences.

TEST Corrections-
Are before school and after school only.


Homework passes: All students will get a homework pass. Students who don't use it,
can drop a HOMEWORK grade only.

Map Rubic:
25% Color maps in colored pencils.
25% Outline each country in marker-Political map/ Outline continent in marker-Physical map.
25% Label in blue or black pen.
25% Answer all questions in complete sentences.


LATE WORK:

Assignments will be accepted one day late for 30% off your graded paper. If the student turns in
an assignment after that, they will receive 30% off that paper and they also need a note from a parent FOR EACH ASSIGNMENT.
Late work is only accepted the first semester until finals start, that is until December 15th.

I don't accept late work from AP Human Geography classes.

PROJECTS AND MAPS:
All projects and maps are 20% of your grade. Please color with colored pencils not crayons. Students will do at least one extra project every nine weeks.
I don't accept projects late only homework (one day).

HOMEWORK/CLASSROOM WORK:
These assignments count for 30% of your grade.


QUIZZES AND TESTS: This policy is only for World History/ World Geography.
These will count for 40% of your grade. To practice for map quizzes and tests, please go to www.sheppardsoftware.com. All tests have test corrections for half the points missed, except the nine weeks grades because grades are due the same day.

NOTEBOOKS:
One composition notebook is due the first day of school. They are graded at the end of the nine weeks.
They count for 10% of your grade.

CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT:
To create a positive learning environment for all students a classroom management plan has to exist. In addition to the rules found
in the student handbook, please refer to the classroom rules.

TARDY POLICY:
Just don't do it! You must be inside the classroom and in your seat, when the bell rings, or you will be counted tardy. Please refer to the handbook in regards to school discipline procedures regarding tardies. After 4 unexcused tardies, a student will receive a referral.
